FNMA 4% is UP on the day 3 bps. Rates on the 30 year are coming in at the 4.75% range today so WOW. Last weeks news mentioned that the "BEST IS OVER" and rates will likely GO UP from here...who really knows though. Please send word to all you care to share these great rates with. Oil hit 60 dollars/barrel today in anticipation of increased demand for the summer...yikes.
Unemployment is at 8.9% with another 539000 jobs eliminated last week...but some real hope: the media is starting to TURN POSITIVE. This is fantastic despite all the reasons to go the other way. When the populace is comfortable...mattress money flows back into the markets. The best we can hope for is a smooth transition back to a sense of "normal" with the markets.
Dow was up 50 points today trading at 8469...contrast this with a level of over 15000 in October of 2007...but this is GOOD and we are continuing to see gains there.
