Today was an interesting DAY in the markets!
GOLDMAN sachs is getting charged with FRAUD by the Securities and Exchange Commission. What!? Evidently there were some questionable practices when they were busy packaging and selling off all those subprime mortgages. I published an article last year in this newsletter that explained the way that there were some pretty sketchy "dotted-lines" drawn between some of those in that corporation to what later has become the largest mortgage meltdown in history.
As a result of the news: Bonds are up. Flight to safety puts our FNMA 4.5% Mortgage Backed Securities Quote at $100.41 currently and is at levels not seen since the feds stopped buying them at the end of March. We are also ABOVE the 25 day moving average which was in the $100.30 range.
Mortgage rates are steady in the LOW 5% range and will likely dip if the bond market holds on Monday.
Consumer Sentiment came in low at a reading of 69 vs the 73 last month. What is it? This is a number that this is based on a street level survey to see how consumers are feeling about their personal finance and their impressions of the economy. We use this to estimate whether or not they are likely to purchase goods and services that will ultimately support the economy. SO much of this economy depends on and is a result of how people are "feeling" about spending, earning and saving money.

KIDS IN CHURCH
Life is ALL about perspective! It is funny how a "different" set of eyes and ears can make all the difference. I am discovering this in my life.
For those who don't know, I am doing well after this latest Chemo treatment and have been dealing with the loss of my mother recently after her fight with cancer ushered her out of this life and into the next one. I don't think she "lost" her fight with cancer, I think she "won" the right to move forward into eternity.
Losing her meant that I will be twice as focused on "winning" my own freedom from cancer. Her passing has brought me closer to my family and the love I feel for her is translated into a newfound respect and love for all those in my life who represent the best parts of her.

Jason sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car.

When the four-year-old son ran up to him,

'Did God throw him back down?'
