Greece is up for about $159 Billion in loans to ease financial pressures and eliminate fears that they will default on their debt. This will come from the International Monetary Fund and the European Union. Money poured out of "safe haven" investments and into the stock market.
Dow was UP 143 points to land at 11,151.
FNMA 4.5% Bond is Down about 19 basis points on the day after spending much of the day deeper underwater than that. The bond ended the day at $100.66 which is just lower than the 200 day moving average. Rates are still in that high 4's and low 5's for the borrower with excellent credit among other qualifications.
Remember that rates vary for borrowers based on factors such as the type of property they are purchasing, whether or not they will occupy the property as a primary residence and their credit scores.
Note on credit scores: the "Free Credit Report" dot coms offering to give a score are not using the same guidelines as the banking institutions who give you loans. Even when your "scores" are ordered directly through the credit bureaus they can vary by several points when your actual credit is ordered through RELS or landsafe or other institutions that pull for the mortgage companies. However, you do get to see if there is un-warranted activity on your credit or other worthwhile things with a personal credit pull. When you are ready to really see "where you are" though: Get prequalified through a lender.
