Bond watching has been quite sporting over the last few years. At times it is as if goals are scored, penalties are dealt with or even amazing plays are carried out to bring the complete unexpected.
It is the unexpected that can be the most interesting. Opportunity always has an expiration date and sometimes you know it, sometimes you don't.
The FNMA 4.0% bond is dead level on the day at the moment as all is quiet after this morning's jobs report. We will be interested to see what the news over the weekend brings but it appears as though investors are interested in leaving their money parked for now.
Independence day has taken on different meaning for many people living on unemployment benefits or being introduced to the wonders of social assistance. My heart goes out to them.
