FYI...Government Shut Down!

A government shut down is "looming" if a spending plan (A.K.A. Budget) is not approved by Friday.  A government shutdown would keep soldiers, intelligence and other employees engaged while closing doors on the Smithsonian Museums and other such "non-critical" federally funded entities.

We experienced a government shutdown in 1995 and 1996 for a few days at a time.

Unless the shutdown is prolonged we won't likely see any effects of it.  The concern was raised over the funding of FHA loans today.  FHA loans will continue to be funded by us here just as RD loans were funded long after RD "ran out of money" in 2009.

The budget presented to be approved initially was well over 3.7 trillion dollars  so obviously represented unsustainable government spending.  To put it into perspective: it would be like spending $3169.00 EVERY SECOND for a year.

Cheers,

Chad
